Our club has been operating in Burnaby for over 30 years. We teach skating to children, 3 years old to late teens, boys and girls. Our lessons include Learn to Skate (CanSkate), Learn to Figure Skate (Junior Development), STARskate and Competitive skating (Private skaters). Our Coaches are all previous skaters, NCCP certified, with years of experience working with children and young adults at every level.
Children can join our CanSkate or Junior Development program at any time. Skaters are not required to pass all the Canskate levels or the Learn to Figure Skate classes offered by the Municipality in order to join our Club. We teach beginners through to competitive figure skating. Our lessons are also designed for children who just want to learn to skate. Small group sizes and children progressing through the levels as they learn, keeps their interest in learning and promotes a fun environment. Kids wanting to play hockey or ringette will benefit from our CanSkate classes as we teach proper stroking technique for strength and speed.
Sign up one time for all levels. Children are evaluated at every session and moved to the next level as they progress!
Our lessons are held at all three arenas in Burnaby: Bill Copeland Arena, Burnaby Lake Arena, and Kensington Arena. Please see our schedule for session dates and times. BFSC puts the fun in skating by offering small class sizes, badges and prizes, and fun events - such as hot chocolate and treats at holidays, and a Year End Party and Show for the whole family.
The Burnaby Figure Skating Club is sanctioned by Skate Canada.
